Definition of Disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

According to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), “disability” is a legal term not a medical one. If you search online then you will find that disability has a legal definition and the ADA’s definition of disability is quite different from how disability is defined under some other country’s laws.

According to ADA- a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity considered a person with disability. The ADA also makes it unlawful to discriminate against a person based on that person’s association with a person with a disability.
